Supporting our Community and our Members

Jul 27

The Elks National Foundation will be returning $1.65 for every dollar that the MN Elks have donated.  This includes $147,650 to our state major project (Youth Camp), Drug Awareness Program, the Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot, and educational programs.  For Scholarships, $20,000 for the Most Valuable Student Scholarship Program, and $16,000 for the Legacy Scholarship Program.  For Veterans Programs, $27,000.  A total of $211,010, and this does not include the Community Investments Program Grants.

Last year, our Eveleth Lodge received $10,000 for community programs such as having Veterans be able to go on the Honor Flight, funding for our Quad Cities Food Shelf, working with the Foster Parents Program of Northern St. Louis County, and Hunger Issues for Elementary Students at our local schools.

Our Lodge also received two Legacy Grant Scholarships out of the four allocated to Minnesota, and one of our Most Valuable Student applicants received a $2,000 scholarship.

All of this was due in part to your continued support of the Elks National Foundation.  So, if you haven’t yet donated, it’s not too late to do so.  You can go online to the Elks National Foundation webpage on the Elks website at www.elks.org, click on donations and make one, or contact me at 218-744-2639 and I’ll send a donation envelope to mail in your contribution.
