March and April have had their challenges.  Twice we have postponed meetings that were to include the initiation of new members.  I hope by the end of May we will have initiated all those who have been waiting.   If each of our members volunteers for at least one thing, our lodge will be successful.  We now have volunteer sign-up on our new website evelethelks.org.  We have volunteer opportunities on committees as well.  Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot, Public Relations, Auditing, Cornfeed, and Car Show to name a few.  If you are not afraid to speak into a mic, we are looking for an MC for our Car Show.  Call or text me if any of these appeals to you, 218 404-0729.

The students in all the different sports sold tickets for the Burger Bash for the Canteen equipment at the new High School.  We presented them with a check for $5000.  Our State President, Craig Deforge helped sell tickets at the door and was impressed by how the community turned out for this event.  I was able to be at the new school for the Spring Play and it is fabulous.

Our Music Bingo was a big hit.  Those that attended had a great time, and I am hoping we will be able to do it again.

The Eveleth City Wide Rummage Sale is the first weekend in May and this year we will be opening the lodge for those who would like to bring their items to sell.  We will charge $5 for a table, the bar will be open 11 am-3 pm and will serve hot dogs and chips as well as beverages.

Our last Friday Meal before summer will be Friday, May 5, Cinco De Mayo.  We will be serving a Taco Dinner.

We will again be donating our Lodge so the VFW Auxiliary can serve coffee and goodies after the service at the cemetery on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.
